Animal Farms in the Community Center Area
Description
This four-level structure houses pigs, cows, chickens, and sheep. Each floor has a chest with breeding-appropriate food for each corresponding animal.
History
The original animal farms were located almost on the exact opposite side of the mountain shown in the picture. They were accessible by using a backdoor in the old Community Center that was hollowed into this mountain. The original design had all the pens aligned horizontally, which took up a considerable amount of lateral space.
The new, vertically-designed building was added in October 2012.
Trivia
Before Minecraft 1.3.1, pigs used to drop an anemic 0-2 porkchops, making them an inefficient animal. They were almost left out of this farm design as a result. They now drop 1-3 porkchops, guaranteeing some return on the time it takes to cull them.
